Gavin sold his first oil painting at the age of 12. He now regularly contributes his work with the Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin and the Royal Ulster Academy. Forthcoming exhibitions are planned for Dublin and Northern Ireland. He also has a keen regard for fund raising and charity exhibitions.
His work can be seen in a number of collections, including, Queens University, Castle Espie wildlife and wetland trust and The city hospital. He has clients as far a field as Canada and the U.S.
